SOLO II Committee Meeting Minutes 4/9/2013
Members in attendance – Dick Willy, Tasha Mikko, Mike Leuty, Val Korry, Jodi Fordahl, Gretchen Everett, Tim Weidemann, Charly Spyksma, Tim Irwin, Ron & Alyson Bauer, Brian Williams, Joel Ferguson, Keith Brown, Charles Aggenbach, Bud Bohrer, Derek Maddox.
Meeting Minutes – Minutes were approved with the following revisions. The Drift group is looking at Arlington Field, not Payne Field and their second event will be in October not September.
NWR Board Report (Dick) – No one was in attendance.
Treasurer's Report (Kristi) - Summary was distributed. Update of last month's records. We have paid out a lot of money with early payments for future events, etc.
NORPAC Report (Keith) – Nothing new to report. No one in attendance.
WWSCC Report (Keith) – First two events held at Emerald Downs were very successful. Over 150+ entrants both days. Largest WW events seen in a long time. Both events were voted on and approved as championship events. Next event April 28th. Dawg Dash at Shelton.
Drift Report – (Derek) – Most of the equipment has been transferred. They went over Motorsports Registration, so that is set up for their first event. The Ridge has declined the request to use their site anytime in 2013. The Union Pacific site Dereak was trying to get a hold of has been very difficult. He did reach one person, but it seems like a dead end so far. Other than that they are getting ready for the first event at Packwood the end of May.
Timing Equipment repair – Tasha sent back four pieces of equipment. One of the main boxes boards was cooked. Race America will not warranty the work they've done since it was beyond the 60 day period of time, however they will cover the shipping. They have no idea what is going on with it or why it broke. She is expecting everything back next week, and she is hoping to get everything to Dan at the Chief's meeting.
Event Chairs – Event Chairs are still needed! We still need a volunteer to cover event #1 in BMP. Tim Irwin has volunteered to switch from #3 to #1, so it is now covered. If you are interested in helping volunteer, please contact Tasha Mikko.
Novice School – First event currently on schedule. Steve Downing has volunteered to be the event Safety Steward. They are almost filled to the max in terms of students, and they are still looking for additional instructors.
Helmets – Motion made and approved to spend a total of $756 delivered for 12 M2005 logo helmets. These would be legal for 7 years.
Chief's Meeting – Will be held next Tuesday, April 16th at 7:00 pm. At Schooner's located on First Avenue. They are tucked in and hidden well, so look for the A-board on the street. No major street signage. The idea is the discuss how all of the major changes are going to impact our event operations, but also to see how this location may fare as a new location to hold our monthly meetings.
