Design Course. Get advice from Chief of Specialty as
needed (Karen Babb, 425-226-1053).
Refer to Chapter 2 in SIIR and verify all requirements are met. |

Submit map to Solo
Committee one month prior to the event (or as soon as possible) |

|
Obtain/arrange
for equipment as needed: NOTE:
All equipment is NORMALLY in the Solo Bus or Trailer. Someone will have to get it to the site! Cones Lumber crayons for cone marking Dolomite for lining (if needed/desired) |

|
Arrange for 3-4
volunteers to help set up the course the day prior. A Safety Steward should be there too. Mark it when satisfied, and stack cones. It is permissible (and desirable) to have
someone, who will not run the event, pre-run the course. |

|
|
RECRUIT AND ARRANGE
VOLUNTEERS FOR EARLY SET UP (EARLY means one hour prior to the opening of
registration) |
|
|
|
Print small (8˝ x
11) course maps for registration (250 copies) |
|
|
|
AT THE EVENT |
|
|
|
Set up course and
get final approval from event Safety Steward. Re-mark cones if necessary.
Line course if desired. |
|
|
|
Have setup crew put
up safety barrier (crowd control tape, bunting and cones) |
|
|
|
Post Official
(large) map by Registration. |
|
|
|
For each course
worker station, Course Control, AND THE CHIEF OF WORKERS, provide an 8˝ x 11
COURSE MAP which shows the areas of coverage for each course worker station. |
|
|
|
Place MAP, FIRE
EXTINGUISHER, RED FLAG, and GARBAGE BAG at each work station |
|
|
|
COURSE DESIGNER
SHOULD BE AVAILABLE ALL DAY TO HANDLE COURSE DEGRADATIONS/CHANGES/ISSUES,
ETC. |

|
POST EVENT |
|

NOTE: If
your event chair has done their job, you should not have to do the
“teardown.” There is a Chief of
Teardown job description! |

remove dolomite lines, if applicable. |
