Rallycross Comes to the Pacific Northwest
Saturday, August 22
Washington County Fairgrounds
SW Cornell Road in Hillsboro (across from the Hillsboro Airport)
Sanctioned by the Oregon Region of the SCCA Present by the Oregon Rally Group and the Oregon Region SCCA.
With the help of the Oregon Region SCCA autocross organizers, the event will feature dual registration for a morning and an afternoon run session. Competitors may register for either session.
Tentative Schedule:
8:00am Registration and Tech Inspection Opens
9:45am Driver's Meeting
10:15am Competition Begins
7:30pm Competition Ends & Awards Announced
Entry fee is $20.00 to anyone with a valid highway driver's license (no SCCA license is required). Cars are subject to safety and tech inspection, no special prep required.
Classes are established for street, Solo II, and PRO Rally prepared cars, trucks and SUVs. The Oregon Rally group has even invited a contingent of Dwarf race cars to run in a class of their own.
Like autocross, you get multiple speed runs on a course laid out with cones on a large parking lot in an effort to run the fastest time against the clock.
Like rally, the parking lot is dirt and grass. You must count all your runs toward the total score. Strategically placed large cones represent major rallying hazards (trees, boulders and cliffs) that will cause you to take severe penalties for knocking over!
