Section 1: Event Description

The 2005 Dryad Quest and 2005 Shitepoke are Stage Rallies.  The 2005 Dryad Quest Rally held on 4 June 2005 is 147 miles in length with 69.83 in stage miles in seven stages.  The 2005   Shitepoke ClubRally held on 5 June 2005 is 112 miles in length with 64.40 stage miles in four stages.  All stages will run on gravel roads in western Mason County, WA and eastern Grays Harbor County , WA .

The final details of the route and the schedule including service time will be described in the route book.  The route book and final itinerary will be issued after successful completion of scrutineering.  The rally will start in Shelton , WA at the Mason County Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 4 at 12:00 and on Sunday, June 5 at 09:30 .  Cars will run at one-minute intervals.

The 2005 Dryad Quest and 2005 Shitepoke are sanctioned by National Auto Sport Association Rally Sport, (NASA).  These events are organized and promoted by the Pacific Rally Group.  The events qualify for the 2005 NW Rally Championship and the 2005 Pacific Rally Championship.

The 2005 Shitepoke is round three of the WSRC - 2005 Western States Rally Championship

 

Pacific Rally Championship competitors will compete in RA Rally classes:

Open, Group 5, Group 2, Production GT, Production, and Historic.

Northwest Region Rally Championship competitors will be grouped into three classes:

Class 1 - Highest Experience level

Class 2 - Intermediate experience level

Class 3 - Novice experience level

Section 7: Entry Form and Entries

Entry to the events will require:

1.  Completed entry form submitted by mail or FAX.

2.  A valid state driver's license for both driver and co-driver.

3.  A current NASA membership and competition license.  (Those entrants who are entering their 1st NASA Rally event will be allowed to compete without a NASA competition License) NASA membership may be obtained at the event for $40.00.

4.  Completed entry form for crew and service crew members and proof of insurance for rally car and service vehicle(s).

5.  Proof of insurance- $100,000 / $200,000 / $50,000 liability limits in force for all vehicles (including service vehicles).

6.  Payment of entry fee.

Early entry $450 if postmarked by May 16 2005

Late entry $500 May 17 through June 2 2005

Entries may be faxed to: 360-956-9041 with fee payable at registration.

An entry fee will be refunded only if an entry is not accepted, the vehicle does not pass scrutineering, or the event does not take place.  Once the vehicle has passed scrutineering, the entry fee will not be refundable.

Section 8: Scrutineering and Documentation

See Section 5 Time Table for scrutineering schedule and location.  Cars will be clean and washed prior to being presented for scrutineering.

Applicable regulations:  No car will be allowed to start unless it complies with NASA regulations and requirements.

Section 9: Service

Service is permitted on this event as designated in the route book.  Control Zones (Areas) are considered Parc Fermes in accordance with ProRally Rules, page 58 7.3.A.  There will be no "open service" allowed on these events.  All service will be performed in designated service areas.

All vehicles being serviced shall require a drop cloth covering the complete area beneath the vehicle and the area beneath the fuel filling point.

Section 10: Pace Notes

The prohibition against pace notes will be strictly enforced the first time a particular stage is run.  On the second running of the same stage, a crew may use annotations to the route book, prepared by them on the previous run.

Section 11: Traffic Infringements

Any traffic citation received during the running of the event by any crew or service crewmember will be reviewed by the Event Stewards for compliance with the 2004 NASA GRR.

Section 12: Marshall Identification

Control marshals will wear yellow or orange control marshal vests.

Section 13: Application and Interpretation of the Regulations

The Clerk of the Course is charged with the application of the present regulations during the running of the event.  The standard NASA procedure will be used in case of claims.  Inquiries, incidents, and withdrawal notifications shall be written on the appropriate NASA form and submitted to a rally official see Section 5 for transmission to the Clerk of the Course, an Event Steward, or in this order.  Inquiries presented to the Scoring Crew are not valid.

Section 14: Amendments to the Regulations and Supplements

Amendments or additional provisions to these regulations will be announced by dated and numbered information bulletins.  The bulletins will be regarded as an integral part of these regulations.  The bulletins will be posted on the official notice board, and may also be directly communicated to the participants during the running of the event, who must acknowledge receipt by signature of bulletins directly communicated at time control points, unless this procedure is materially impossible.

Section 15: Exceptions from NASA Rally Sport 2005 General Regulations

2.11 Signage and Arrows

All directional arrows shall be on the right side of the roadway.

Directional arrows for stages that are run in the opposite direction shall be a color that is distinctly different from the other direction.  The color of the arrows for these stage shall be clearly stated at the beginning of such stages in the route book.

2.14.h

The “OK” sign in the route book shall be black.

2.16.10, 2.17, 2.17.22, and 2.17.2.5 Controls, Time Cards, and Timing

Shall be in accordance with the Northwest timing system and as follows:

Passage Controls shall have a yellow "Stamp" sign, a red "Stamp" sign, and a beige "End Control Zone" sign.

 

Competitors may check in early at the final control each day, and declare their ideal arrival time, as long as that time has not passed.  (Note: The control may not be set up prior to 15 minutes before the scheduled arrival time of the first competitor vehicle).

The entries on the competitor vehicle Timecard is the official record from which scoring decisions will be made. It is the responsibility of the competitors to verify all entries made on the Timecard at the time of entry. No changes to an entry on the Timecard, other than changes made by control personnel at the time of original entry, will be made, except at the discretion of the organizers when there are:

1) discrepancies with the control logs, or

2) mathematical errors in stage time computations.

No protests or inquiries, based upon entries made on timecards, shall be accepted.

The target check-in time is the time obtained by adding the ideal time allowed to complete the stage and transit sections to the start time of the previous Special Stage, or to the out time from the previous time control, these items being expressed to the minute (the seconds having been dropped.)

2.22 Time Assessments

Scores shall be in hours, minutes, and seconds.

Exclusion for Lateness

Lateness exceeding 30 minutes over the time allowed between a MTC or ATC and the next ATC, RTC or MTC, whichever comes first, or a total lateness of more than 30 minutes per day will result in the exclusion of the crew.

Exclusion for Earliness

Earliness exceeding 10 minutes under the time allowed between a MTC or ATC and the next ATC, RTC, or MTC, whichever comes first, or total earliness of more than 10 minutes per day will result in the exclusion of the crew.


3.2 Vehicle Class and Preparation Regulations

Vehicle Class shall be those used by the Northwest Region and listed in Section

3.4 Pre-event Technical Inspection

All the requirements of this section must be meet.  Engine sound will be check at Scrutineering, and any other time as decided by the Organizers, or Steward.

3.6.23 Suits

Acceptable ratings shall those listed in this paragraph and FIA 1986 standards.  Suits will be clean and in good condition with no rips or tears.

Section 16: Awards

Awards will be presented for the NW Rally Championship and the Pacific Rally Championship.  Awards will be presented for each individual rally.

Section 17: Prize Giving

Awards will be presented at the dinner on Sunday evening at the Shelton Moose Lodge, 741 SE Craig Road, Shelton, WA.  Prizewinners must be present to receive awards unless prior arrangements are made with the Organizer or Event Steward.  

Section 18: Provisional Scores

Information only scores will be posted Saturday 4 June at the Shelton Senior Center.

Provisional scores will be posted at Sunday 5 June at the Moose Lodge as soon as available.  Scores will be final 30 minutes after posting or 30 minutes after any inquiries or protests are resolved.  

 

General Information

HAM Radio Frequencies:  The official radio frequencies will be posted in the Service Instructions, and in the Route Book.

This area is very hilly and causing radio communication to be very difficult if not impossible from certain areas.
