NASA NW Rally Championship

June 4-5, 2005

Spectator Information
Rally is a potentially dangerous sport, your presence in the vicinity of this event is entirely at your own risk.   The rally goes on rain or shine.  You'll be more comfortable in our spectator areas if you plan for changing weather conditions.  Dress for the terrain and brush, boots and long pants are recommended.

Saturday, June 4
Parc Expose:  Mason County Fairgrounds, Noon till 12:30 pm
All of the cars will be on display before the rally heads into the forest.  From I-5, take Highway 101 North (exit 104) and follow the signs north towards Shelton.  Stay on 101, passing all three Shelton exits.  About 0.4 miles after the third Shelton exit (Wallace-Kneeland Blvd), watch for the signs and turn left into the fairgrounds.

Schafer Grade: Stages start at 1:20, 2:51 and 4:42 pm
Plan to be in place half an hour before the stage starts!
Follow the Shelton-Matlock Road 15 miles west from Highway 101 to the Matlock store.  Keep heading west, as straight as possible through Matlock on the Deckerville Road, another 5.4 miles and turn right onto Kelly Road.  Go north for 0.4 miles.  Turn left onto a gravel road.  Be alert for rally cars and park so that you do not block the road.  This spot is close to the finish of stages 1 and 3 and the start of stage 5.   On the first two passes, you'll see the cars coming from a fast straight on your left into  a 90 degree turn.  The direction is reversed for the last run on this stage, cars come from your right through a tricky intersection into the 90 and exit to a long straight.  Between stages, a short walk up the old railroad grade will lead you to the Cook Reload where you can see the crews in action servicing the rally cars.

Stillwater: Evening stages start at 6:05 and 7:08 pm
Plan to be in place half an hour before the stage starts!   From the Schafer Grade stages, head east on the Deckerville Road past the Matlock Store and Lake Nahwatzel.  Turn right on the Del Adams Road, just before you reach Mill 5 on your left.  (From Highway 101 head west on Shelton-Matlock Road.  In 8.5 miles, just past Mill 5, turn left onto Del Adams Road.)  The Del Adams Road immediately changes to gravel, speed limit 30 mph, expect 2-way traffic.  Head straight down the mainline (eventually over a bridge) for about 3.5 miles to spectator area.  From here, you'll have an unobstructed view of cars coming off a sweeper, into a 90 degree left turn, then sweeping right through a dip before going out of sight left over crest.
