Spectator Directions  for Sunday March 2, 2003

Directions to Stage 1 and 2, Pico:
From Seattle or Portland take I-5 to Olympia exit 104.  Go west toward the coast and exit the freeway at Montesano.  Coming off the freeway turn right on Main and proceed north to Pioneer Ave.  (From Hoquiam/Aberdeen take the Devonshire Road exit to the left and proceed to Pioneer.) Turn left on Pioneer and proceed west to the Wynooche Valley Road. 

Turn right on Wynooche Valley Road, in approximately one-half mile turn right on the Sylvia Creek A-Line.  (Note: if you reach Val Vista Road, you've gone too far!)  Follow the Sylvia Creek A-Line to the stage entrance.  Follow the directions of spectator marshals.  No entry to this spectator area will be allowed after 9 AM.  The stage starts at 9:53 and runs in the reverse direction at 11:16 AM.  

Directions to Stage 3 and 6, Brooklyn: 
From Seattle take I-5 to Olympia exit 104. Take Highway 101 and then Highway 8 west toward the coast. Exit the freeway at Elma and go south on Highway 12 to Porter, turn right and cross the Chehalis River, in less than 1/2 mile turn left on the South Bank Road. Follow the signs to Brooklyn and turn right on Gerrard Creek Road. In about 3 miles bear right onto the Oakville-Brooklyn Road follow the road until the pavement ends and the stage starts. Follow the directions of spectator marshals, drive to any spectator area along the road.  

From Montesano you can reach the west end of the Oakville-Brooklyn Road by going south on Highway 107, turn left on Highway 101, pass through Arctic, cross the bridge and turn left onto the North River Road. Follow this winding road 20 miles and pass the Brooklyn Tavern.  When the pavement ends you have reached the stage. Follow the directions of spectator marshals, drive to any spectator area along the road.  Please be in place by 12:45 PM, the cars will start on this stage at 1:49 PM.  

There are hundreds of great viewing spots along this road.  Be sure to park well away from the road, rally cars will throw rocks!  Dress warmly, bring rain gear, food and water, you will not be allowed to leave this stage until all rally cars and a sweep vehicle have passed.   This stage will be run twice, the second run starts at 4:18 PM.
