Time: 7:30am registration, school starts at 8am
Location: Bremerton Motorsports Park

Includes:
- Ground School: Introduction to drifting and drifting events.
- Hands-on, in-car instruction from experienced drifters.
- A morning skidpad session and afternoon J turn course session with a lunch brake in between.
- Temporary weekend SCCA membership that covers Saturday school. This membership will also allow you to register and drive in the SCCA autocross on Sunday 4/6 (separate entry fee).
- Basic competency in high performance driving and general familiarity with your car. Previous practice with handing oversteer situations a plus. Autocross experience is recommended.
- Car* - A rear wheel drive car is required and a manual transmission is strongly recommended.
- Helmet - You will need a helmet meeting the 95, 2000, or 2005 Snell Foundation standards (SA, K, or M) in good condition. Your helmet MUST have a sticker on the inside that matches the above year and letter ratings. See http://www.smf.org/cert.html for examples. Non SNELL rated DOT approved helmets cannot be used. There will be a limited number of loaner helmets available. If you will not be able to purchase or borrow a helmet make sure to let us know in your registration email to ensure there will be enough helmets to go around. A Snell rated helmet can be purchased new for $150 - $250 (make sure you try it on before buying!).
- Tech Inspection – Your car must be in good running condition and must pass tech inspection. See the SCCA Drifting rules at (SCCADriftRules.pdf - section 7) and make sure your car meets all of these requirements. If your car does not pass tech it cannot be used.
- Tires – At least one extra pair of wheels and tires is required. The skidpad drill goes through tires quickly so I suggest that you bring two (or 3 if you can afford it. You don't want your day to end early because you ran out of tires!) extra pairs of wheels in addition to the ones on your car to be safe. All tires must be in good condition not worn past the tread wear indicators. Be sure to ask if you need help finding suitable wheels and tires within your price range.
- Maintenance – In addition to tech inspection make sure your care is running reliably prior to the event. Fix any cooling and drivability issues to ensure you can drive the whole event and drive home. It is strongly recommended that you change all fluids (oil, coolant, brake, transmission, power steering, and differential fluid) that have not been recently changed prior to the event. If your car brakes down in the middle of the day you’ll loose out on run time and possibly have to tow it home!
- LSD - A limited slip differential is highly recommended as this is the secret ingredient for drifting. If your car does not have a LSD it will be much more difficult for you to learn but you are still welcome. If you have a viscous type LSD note that this event could significantly wear out your differential reducing it’s ability to properly lock the inside tire.
Following theses guidelines will ensure that you get maximum track time and the most out of this school.
