Evergreen Speedway Update

To all our Club, Track Trials and Club Racers,

Over the past couple of months NWR-SCCA has explored the opportunity of adding to our track roster an event at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe. Evergreen Speedway offered us an open date to test the waters on October 22 2011. Looking towards the future we are hoping to include events throughout next year at this track.

Trying to put all the required logistics together for a new track in such a compressed time has been a challenge and this past week we finally got the green light to move forward. With a road course design in hand, four of us walked the track Wednesday Oct. 5th in the rain and deemed the track unsafe under its present condition and the current weather conditions. The track is in need of resurfacing and in relatively poor condition. Though not perfect, it is still usable and if we could predict favorable weather, we would move ahead with the event. But this time of the year the weather can be challenging and we all felt it would be in the best interests of all to cancel this upcoming event.

Future talks with the track will continue and we will try and schedule an event for next season during the summer months where we can count on more favorable weather.

Thank you for your support in helping us to gauge your interest in participating in this event. We look forward to the opportunity to hold an event at Evergreen Speedway and will keep all of you informed of the future developments.

October will be talking about next season, wrapping up the Monroe event and Rules for 2012 Supps.
