RALLYCROSS
SOUTH SOUND SPEEDWAY
Tenino, Washington
SATURDAY DECEMBER 5TH, 1998
What is a Rallycross?
Rallycross is a combination of Autocross and Road Rally. The
Rallycross course is a combination of flat grass and gravel with
some potential bumpy sections. The course is designed to provide
the driver with challenges found in both Autocross and Rally.
This event will run on the grass parking lot of South Sound
Speedway (2.5 miles East of I-5 exit 88). Each driver will
receive 5 runs on the approximately .75 mile grass/gravel
Rallycross course. As with Rally, your five times will be
combined to determine your final score. The Rallycross will be
run using a worker/competitor format. This means that when you
are not driving, you are working somewhere on the course. Your
vehicle will be subject to stresses generally not associated
with daily driving.
Who can participate?
The Rallycross is open to any licensed vehicle and driver 16
years old or older. Anyone under 18 must bring a parent or
guardian to sign the S.C.C.A. waiver. Helmets are required.
SNELL M-85, SA-85 or newer (a few loaners will be available). To
preserve the conditions of the course, no purpose-built Rally
tires, aggressive tread mud tires or studded tires will be
allowed. No convertibles or lifted vehicles will be allowed
to run. The same car can be used by different drivers. You will
be charged by the driver not by the vehicle. The vehicles will be
entered into one of the following classes: Over 2-Liter (O2),
Under 2-Liter (U2), All-Wheel Drive, S.U.V. , and Trucks.
Classes will be assigned at the Tech Inspection.
