Dryad Quest ClubRally

So you want to know about  Dryads?

Dryads are the spirits of the trees.  Unlike wood nymphs, each dryad has a specific tree to watch over and protect.  When the tree dies, the dryad dies as well.  Except for that, dryads are immortal.  However, they can never stray far from their tree for very long. Hamadryads are a type of dryad that live inside the tree and can never leave it.

Today pollution and disbelief in magic are  having a horrible effect on the dryad population.

The artists of Elfwood have managed to illustrate several Dryads, including Diana a member of the NWR Rally Committee who helps out as a road marshall.

Dryads love chocolate and hate litter, so do rally photographers.  And if you still don't believe in Dryads, David Sammons has photographed one.

Please read Hans Christian Andersen's tale of The Dryad for more information.
