In Memory of
Kirk Salvatore

December 10, 1949 - March 19, 2010
It is with a very heavy heart that I pass on the news
of the passing of Kirk Salvatore. He
passed away on Friday March 19 of a brain disease. His memorial service
will be 2:00 pm Sunday March 28th at Glendale Farm -
431 Center Road Chimacum WA. all
SCCA family is welcome to attend.
A member of SCCA since 1997 Kirk was extremely
active in Northwest Region working on the Solo 1 program (now Time
Trials) and driving his Black 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC -6.0L #9. He
attended events at Bremerton, Monroe, Pacific Raceways and more.
Kirk turned over the reins of Solo 1 as it was transformed into Time
Trials in 2005. He then decided he would turn his Mercedes
back in to strictly a street car and planned to someday race a different
car. When time from his farm,
Glendale, permitted he showed up
to at the track to visit with friends and to lend a hand to fellow
racers. You will be missed, and in our hearts forever.

Kirk was
good person with a big heart and a passion for the SCCA Solo 1 program.
There was a small group of us, "The Corvette Gang" that were extremely
appreciative of the time and effort Kirk put into the program. All of
us continued-on to other racing venues, but will always remember our
roots and those that turned our racing dreams into reality.
Our
sincere condolences; Bud Harris, David Hurley, Brad Biggerstaff, Steve
Raeder, Jerry Fraulini

Wow that sure is a
shock. I just remember seeing and talking to him last year. I got to
know Kirk quite well coming to quite a few of the Solo events in the
past 8 years or so, being pretty well the only Canuck there to on most
occasions. Kirk was a gentleman who always tried to do his best for his
small group of Solo competitors. God bless you Kirk and may you rest in
peace.
